César Augusto Meléndez Castillo
(Sept. 1982) - Panama's First Professional Rock Climber, Computer Engineer, Painter and Digital Artist from Boquete, Province of Chiriquí in Panamá.
On 2004 I had an amazing opportunity to travel around the world ascending some of the most amazing mountains imaginable.
My role as proffessional rock climber pushed the limits of my mind and body yet also allowed me to perceive a unique and privileged view of God's creation which continue to serve as a fundamental inspiration on my artwork.
During expeditions I remember enjoying the sourrandings and often drawing on my notebooks quick sketchs that someday (I hoped) I could refine and paint. Many times I also painted to escape from the rigours of the sport reflecting my own fears and weaknesses.
On 2017 I retired as pro athlete and began a new stage on my life where new challenges awaited yet climbing and painting remained as permanent companions for me.
The paints I do are mostly a recopilation of memories that attempt to capture emotions in a mix of real and imaginative interpretations.
